THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE AND THE SHOALS AREA RECEIVE A CHRISTMAS SONG OF THANKS

Sound Diplomacy sends letter and song of appreciation to Mayors of North Alabama

HUNTSVILLE, ALA. — Few cities in the world can claim to have their own Christmas Song. That distinction now includes five North Alabama cities. Sound Diplomacy, the London based music policy consultant; RCP Companies, a community empowerment company; and FAME Recording Studios have partnered to present a song as a gift for the active effort in the world’s largest music audit.

The following letter of appreciation was sent from Shain Shapiro, CEO of Sound Diplomacy, to the Mayors of Huntsville, Florence, Muscle Shoals, Tuscumbia and Sheffield:

Music creates memories. It brings people together.
It transcends cultural boundaries. It’s a language that everyone understands.

            With that said, partners that have come together through our work in North Alabama, with our blessing, have put the above statement into action. Professional musicians and local recording artists wanted to say thank you to The City of Huntsville and all of the cities in The Shoals (Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield and Tuscumbia) for caring about music enough to engage our company to conduct the on-going music audits. For all of the citizens of North Alabama, we offer you a song in the spirit of the holiday season. Sung by Billy D. Allen, “Christmas at Home” is a song that speaks to the special sense of community that one feels about their hometown at this special time of year. Written by a local songwriter and recorded in Huntsville at The Maitland Conservatory by Mario T Maitland Jr., and at FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, we offer it as a gift to everyone in your honor worldwide. It is important to remind us all of this great journey we started for a music ecosystem in North Alabama in 2018. The song (released on the Huntsville Indie label Bassline) will be available for free on all streaming services and by download for .99 cents (100% of all sales will benefit the FAME Girls Ranch, a group home for girls and young women donated to the State of Alabama by The Hall Family) on iTunes and Amazon Music. We will help spread the word of this project around the globe to let everyone know the power of North Alabama Music. We know what it means to love your community as much as you all do and hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday season. The song will be released Wednesday, December 12, 2018.
