Are you a Foodie? Or better yet, a Food Truckie? As Huntsville continues to welcome new restaurants and interesting concept food trucks, it looks like some national attention is being paid to one of our very own: Highway Kabobery Food Truck.
On Sept 19, and airing all month long at different time slots, Highway Kabobery was featured on The Food Network’s Big Food Truck Tips.
RCP Companies highlights food, entertainment and culture influencers in North Alabama. We caught up with Adrian and Jessie Wardrake, the creators and owners of Highway Kabobery.
Jesse is a Huntsville native, and Adrian is from Alexandria, AL. The husband and wife team faced a few challenges and hiccups when they first started their rolling American style kabob business a few years ago. The custom built truck was delayed almost 3 months, and getting permits and name recognition was difficult at first.
This appearance on The Food Network’s Big Food Truck Tips should help with name recognition! The Wardrakes said Andrew Zimmern, the host of the show, was gracious and easy to work with.
“It was terrifying at first, but the crew was exceptionally nice. Andrew Zimmern himself was beyond amazing, he was very kind and genuinely enjoyed our food which was easily the scariest moment ever.”
The inspiration for Highway Kabobery’s menu is their love for unique seasonings and special sauces, and classic high-quality food that’s easy to eat on the go.
“Our top selling steak is the Steakhouse; grilled steak, potatoes and onions. Our most popular chicken is our Highway Chicken; grilled chicken with a special, spicy cream sauce, often times with a Veggie Skewer which is grilled squash, zucchini, cherry tomatoes and onions.”
Catch up with Highway Kabobery by visiting their Facebook page to see the truck’s location status. You can find them at the NASA Food truck corral Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with alternating events on other days.
RCP‘s partnership with Atlanta’s Southern Fried Hospitality and the innovative Chef Marc Taft will soon welcome Gemini Kitchen + Cocktails and Veranda Bar at CityCentre downtown. Taft has multiple successful restaurants in Atlanta, including his Brine Seafood Shack and FEED Fried Chicken.
Keep an eye out for future food concepts to be announced for The Camp, MidCity, and be sure to give Highway Kabobery a taste!
