Between our commercial properties and our mixed-use developments, there’s never a dull moment in the RCP office. Here’s a recap of the progress made throughout the RCP developments and properties between July through September this year.
Our 140-acre mini-city is vertical and doors are open! Check out who has joined Topgolf, High Point Climbing & Fitness, and The Camp at the District.
North Alabamians have eagerly awaited the opening of Huntsville’s first Dave & Buster’s. The entertainment destination includes an extensive arcade game floor, premier sports bar & restaurant, and special event space. Dave & Buster’s has proudly brought over 200 jobs to our community.
High Point Climbing & Fitness had a tremendous grand opening of their Huntsville location in April! The City of Huntsville approached the owners of the climbing facility to attract competitive climbers to our area with an outdoor climbing wall. High Point accepted the challenge and built a 45-foot outdoor tower with over 6,000 square feet of climbing surface on the north end of the public park in the Adrenaline Zone at MidCity. The outdoor tower opened for High Point’s regular hours in September.
Next up, we have REI Co-op! The premier outdoor retailer is prepping their first-signed Alabama store for a mid-November opening. REI will open directly north of High Point, adjacent to the public park. Learn more about their Grand Opening celebrations and the classes, events, and outings they’re hosting now here!
Have you been to The Camp yet? The Camp a living brochure of MidCity – we want to engage with the community well before the District is fully operating, so our team operates and programs this outdoor entertainment venue with amazing food & drinks, live original music, unique events, craft coffee, & so much more. And quarter was a busy one for us at The Camp, check out the events our team put on & put it on your list for this weekend’s plans:
In September, we celebrated 256 Day (256th day of the year & North Alabama zip code) BIG TIME with LAMONTAPHONICS – a dynamic collab with NorthAL powerhouses Lamont Landers Band and Quantaphonics!
We hosted TWO full days of events to celebrate America’s Independence Day with tons of live music, a live chef-demo, and the first-annual Watermelon Carving Contest!
The Endless Summer Concert Series included amazing regional bands like Paradigm’s Brook & The Bluff, as well as The New Respects who performed at Lollapalooza & Bonnaroo. This was a great precursor to the level of talent that Huntsville is starting to attract!
Joining second quarter‘s openings of Chuy’s, Brass Tap, Hand & Stone, and J. Whitener, last quarter we welcomed the newly-opened Char Restaurant! Opened by a top-notch restaurant group from Nashville, Char is an upscale steakhouse serving top cuts of meat, fresh seafood, and homestyle sides. It is an excellent addition to the Ulta-anchored center – be sure to plan your next dinner outing there!
With so many great restaurants at Merchants Square and Merchants Walk, we partnered with Downtown Huntsville Inc. for a social media campaign to promote the #DowntownHuntsville Medical District restaurants consider to be their “Best Bites.” Participating restaurants include Merchants Walk’s Farm Burger, The Local Taco, Maki Fresh and Merchants Square’s Char Steakhouse, The Brass Tap, and Chuy’s!
